Jody West

Digital Scrapbook Layout Artist
Jody found digital scrapbooking by chance in 2009, but it wasn’t until she switched to Photoshop Elements that she truly started experimenting with her pages. Since getting her Wacom Bamboo, Jody cannot imagine scrapping without it! She lurked on Scrap Girls for about 12 months before gaining the confidence to post her first page. Jody started scrapping in 8.5x11 but found 12x12 suited her style a lot more.
Jody has a varied style, ranging from minimalist with lots of white space to her busier “art journal” type pages. She loves color but also finds that sometimes less is more. Rarely short of a word, Jody also likes to journal on her pages and finds that telling the story is often what makes a page unique and special. You will also see that Jody loves ribbon, and it’s rare for her to do a page without at least one!
Jody is a single parent, a stay-at-home mother to two boys, Aidan and Callan. Many of Jody’s pages and her p52 (Project 52) layouts feature her boys. She is blessed with a supportive partner of almost six years now and you will see Darren in many of Jody’s pages, too! Scrapping is a wonderful way to preserve memories of special occasions and day-to-day events for her family.
During 2010, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and has undergone a lot of treatment and recovery and is still receiving treatment. Jody finds scrapping to be a great escape from her daily life as well as a wonderful way to vent some of the stress associated with the bad days. Documenting steps along the way has become a great coping tool, and Jody suggests it as a way to capture the “realness” of life.
