Jennifer grew up in rural Pennsylvania and spent most of her formative years slinging manure and driving tractors. During high school, her dad gave her his vintage Nikon camera and she began her creative endeavor in photography. Nature was a primary subject, especially ferns and fieldscapes. While in college pursuing a degree in communications, Jennifer took her first formal photography class and began developing black-and-white images. Her professional career led her to the nonprofit sector where she organized volunteers, planned events, produced newsletters, wrote articles, designed promotional materials, and managed media relations.
However, Jennifer’s true creative life really blossomed when she became a mom. While on bedrest waiting for her first child, she watched Season 1 of Project Runway. Soon after her daughter was born, she taught herself to sew. Additionally, with new subject material, Jennifer began spending more time with her camera, now a Nikon D70s.
In 2008, while surfing the web trying to figure out what to do with all her digital images, Jennifer stumbled across Scrap Girls. Inspired by all of the talent in the Gallery and Boutique, she started creating her own layouts. This led her to a position at a scrapbooking eZine and then to designing her own work. When she saw the Scrap Girls Design Team call, she knew she had to apply. She is thrilled and honored to have been chosen to share her designs here.
In addition to being a full-time mom to Adeline and Kiefer and wife to husband, Chris, Jennifer regularly practices Aikijutsu, reads, researches her family tree, and sews funky clothes.
