Scrap Girls Digital Scrapbooking Team
Scrap Girls' President
Debbie Cleek took over the management of Scrap Girls in May 2012 to give Founder Rozanne Paxman more time to design and create. Her love for the Internet led her to Scrap Girls, and she is thrilled to apply her artistic creativity and business knowledge toward making Scrap Girls a wonderful place to visit and shop.
Debbie’s background is in architecture and urban planning. In her previous career, she focused on using technology to help companies run more efficiently and improve their procedures. She also worked as a Project Manager where her role was to bring people together to work effectively and meet goals.
Outside of the office, Debbie has never met a craft she didn’t like. As a child, her mother taught her how to sew. She likes to use the 1938 Singer sewing machine she inherited from her grandmother, despite having a much newer machine tucked away in the basement. The smell of the old machine, along with its beautiful black enamel and gold paint, holds many fond memories. She also makes jewelry and pebble mosaics when she can find the time. In 2001, she took a card-making class with a friend at a local paper shop and was hooked. She was thrilled when she found digital scrapbooking, since her paper scrapbooking supplies had gotten out of control.
Debbie resides in Portland, Oregon, and when she is not crafting, she loves to get outside and enjoy all the wonders the Pacific Northwest has to offer with her husband, Todd, and chocolate Labrador, Bebe. She loves keeping busy and some of her favorite activities include running, yoga, biking, and gardening. During the long wet months of winter, she likes to spend time cooking with family and friends.
Debbie feels blessed to have a job that helps foster creativity in others. She loves the warm, friendly Scrap Girls community and enjoys being behind the scenes keeping it all going.
